Ryan Blaney was on the outside row next to race leader Brad Keselowski set to make an overtime restart coming out of turn 4 and heading to the restart zone in the Brickyard 400. Instead of Keselowski jumping on the gas Brad’s car began running out of fuel and he quickly turned left onto pit road just before the restart area. Kyle Larson, who was running third directly behind Keselowski, pulled up next to Blaney on the now vacated preferred inside line. Larson got a good restart and cleared Blaney shortly thereafter. Ryan Blaney wins the NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway pulling away from Denny Hamlin in what initially was setting up to be a fuel mileage duel until all hell broke loose in stage 3. The caution flew on lap 114 for a Todd Gilliland brake failure which brought everyone to pit road. Blaney inherited the lead following a speeding penalty for Kyle Larson. Last Sunday Kyle Larson wrecked Ross Chastain which caused an overtime caution. Larson’s impact into the No.1 of Chastain turned Chastain into the outside wall directly in front of a snakebit Kyle Busch. Rowdy ended up hitting the wall too, having nowhere to go to avoid the mess unfolding just in front of his car. In a move from NASCAR that had most everyone watching scratching their heads, Busch was allowed to restart in 4th position even though he could not initially keep the minimum pace speed during the ensuing caution.  NASCAR Cup Series Managing Director Brad Moran tried to explain NASCAR’s reasoning for restarting…

Joey Logano was among the last standing and got the win and the guitar in the NASCAR Cup Series ally 400 at Nashville. It was an intense battle that saw several drivers who seemed to have the race in the bag, starting with Ross Chastain being run down by a blazing fast Denny Hamlin with only 15 laps to go. Christopher Bell overcame every obstacle that was thrown at him Sunday. It didn’t matter if it was rain, darkness, repeated cautions or the rest of the field driving way over their heads on a damp track, he got the win in the USA TODAY 301 NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Bell swept the weekend as he also won the SCI Aps 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series event on Saturday. Bobby Dale Earnhardt son of Kerry Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Sr’s grandson announced that he will be competing in the Carolina Crate Modified Series event at Orange County Speedway this coming Saturday evening. He will be driving a second entry for Brian Weber, who is currently third in the Carolina Crate Modified Series points standings. This will be Earnhardt’s first time on the 3/8th mile oval, and his first time behind the wheel of a Crate Series Modified.
