Bobby Dale Earnhardt son of Kerry Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Sr’s grandson announced that he will be competing in the Carolina Crate Modified Series event at Orange County Speedway this coming Saturday evening. He will be driving a second entry for Brian Weber, who is currently third in the Carolina Crate Modified Series points standings. This will be Earnhardt’s first time on the 3/8th mile oval, and his first time behind the wheel of a Crate Series Modified. Bobby Dale previously drove in the ARCA Truck Series between 2013 and 2016 where he won the Rookie of the Year title in 2013. He’s also made several starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving for MBM Motorsports. Most recently Earnhardt has been the crew chief for his son Brylon Earnhardt’s Beginner Boxstocks runs at Millbridge Raceway and surrounding tracks. Earnhardt says that will be shaking off the cobwebs as he climbs back into the driver’s seat, and he is very excited about the opportunity. Car owner Brian Weber is also excited to have Earnhardt onboard for this weekend’s event. Weber said that he has good memories of racing against the Intimidator in his Busch North Series days at Indianapolis Raceway Park, and thinks it’s a poetic journey that it has all come full-circle now that he is fielding a ride for Dale’s grandson. Sponsorship for Bobby’s comeback run is courtesy of Saltshaker Marine in Mooresville NC, and Circle S Gelbvieh. You can follow Bobby Dale Earnhardt at Facebook.com/BobbyDaleEarnhardt1.
